Dr. Carando is an approved medical practitioner at the Locarno Santa Chiara clinic, which performs surgical interventions and urological endoscopies, where he is Head of Urology.
Dr. Carando also works as an associate doctor in the urology department at LUKS (Luzerner Kantonsspital) under the direction of Prof. Agostino Mattei.

This referral centre for robotic surgery and the treatment of urological tumours performs highly complex operations (robotic RADICAL prostatectomies, robotic partial nephrectomies, RADICAL cystectomies with neobladder reconstruction, etc) requiring multidisciplinary intervention at the highest level, sophisticated equipment and a large number of cases to be treated on a yearly basis.
 
Following initial assessment in Ticino, the patient is operated on in Lucerne under the direction of Dr. Carando, who also participates in the operation.
The Lucerne facility also provides accommodation for relatives.

Dr. Carado continues to monitor the patient after he/she is discharged, establishing continuity in the Lucerne treatment process.
 
In Lucerne, patients who are Swiss residents receive treatment at no additional charge, regardless of any health insurance provision.
